4. Course Description:

This course focuses on preparing the student for Field Experience. Students will evaluate their readiness and will work collaboratively to identify a field placement site. Students will analyze their strengths and opportunities for improvement as potential human service workers, and will interview with potential internship sites. At the end of this course, the student must select and be accepted by an appropriate field placement site that is approved by program faculty. Students will be required to complete a criminal background study through the Minnesota Department of Human Services. To begin the internship next semester, students must be 18 years of age to work in the field.
