2. Course Specific Outcomes - Students will be able to achieve the following measurable goals upon completion of
the course:
- Apply safe work practices in a manner compatible with OSHA requirements and industry expectations;
- Demonstrate industry standard applications of selected tools and equipment for lawn and garden equipment maintenance, diagnostic and repair tools;
- Demonstrate off-season storage procedures of lawn and garden equipment;
- Identify a variety of components on a selection of lawn and garden equipment;
- Demonstrate the ability to sharpen and service chain saw chains;
- Demonstrate the ability to sharpen and balance lawn mower blades;
- Demonstrate the ability to quickly diagnose equipment to determine if it's worth fixing;
- Apply preventative maintenance on lawn and garden equipment; and
- Use a variety of computer, Web and technical resources to find information, troubleshoot problems and prepare estimates.
