4. Course Description:
This course allows students to earn credit while participating in a supervised applied learning experience in a career communication, service learning communication, or leadership communication context. A minimum of 54 service hours per credit per semester or summer session will be required for completion of the course. In addition, all proposed projects (with required project outlines created by the student) must be pre-approved by the supervising Communication instructor and all arrangements made prior to registration for the semester in which the project is proposed to be scheduled.

1. Lecture Sessions
In each option, the student will narrow their focus of study within the field of communication and learn the tenants of this area of study leading to a "hands on", active application within the experiential learning context.
Career Communication. This includes application experience directed at but not limited to:
- Mass Communication Careers
- Interpersonal Communication Careers
- Forensic and Public Speaking Communication Careers
- Intercultural Communication Careers
- Social Media Communication Careers
Service Learning Communication. This includes application experience directed at but not limited to:
- Interpersonal Service Learning Communication
- Intercultural Service Learning Communication (Domestic or International)
Leadership Communication. This includes application experience directed at but not limited to:
- Community Leadership Application
- Small Group, Team and/or Organizational Leadership Communication
- Individual Leadership Communication
