4. Course Description:

Applied Mathematics is designed to be an integral part of a learning community with specific technical programs. This course is specialized for Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology, Marine and Small Engine Technology, Manufacturing Welding, and Machine Tool Technology. The common topics will include reading measurement devices, manipulation of formulas for specific industry needs, geometric calculations, and small business math with tax implications. Other topics are dependent on program needs and could include applications in hydraulics, trigonometry, electronics, blueprints, tolerancing, angular and gear calculations.
