4. Course Description:
CLC Productions I is part one of a two-course sequence. In CLC Productions I, students will be divided into two groups and follow one of two tracks. Students in Track A will focus on producing 'real-world' corporate/industrial productions for the college community and local non-profit organizations. The objective of this unit is to provide students with hands-on experience in authentic working environments. Concurrently, students in Track B will produce an episodic college news broadcast distributed on-campus and on public access television. The strategy of this unit is to mimic an authentic news and studio environment. Subsequently, all students exchange roles in CLC Productions II during spring semester.

- Demonstrate effective corporate communications programming skills;
- Develop strategies for creating positive corporate relations in video processes;
- Integrate successful field-producer strategies in corporate filmmaking; and
- Integrate successful executive producer strategies in non-fiction filmmaking.
STUDENTS IN TRACK 'B'
- Demonstrate understanding of studio design & setup;
- Operate studio cameras effectively;
- Perform control room procedures effectively;
- Operate teleprompter effectively;
- Perform live sound mixes effectively;
- Construct remote broadcast setups for recording of large events;
- Identify common studio script directions and language;
- Design and execute effective chroma-key sets;
- Produce news packages; and
- Compose actionable news copy.

- Interaction with proposed clients in preparation of video projects
