1. Lecture Sessions

1. Apply knowledge of developmental levels of target students for designing appropriate learning experiences.
2. Locate and use developmentally appropriate materials using a variety of print media and technology.
3. Demonstrate proficiency in generating unit and lesson plans for a contemporary curriculum in the specialty area.
• Apply accepted instructional design principles to adapting curriculum materials to present real-world scenarios for the students in the content areas.
• Design learning experiences that help students draw relationships among concepts and topics in the specialty area.
• Provide opportunities for students to work with newly acquired concepts and ideas in a variety of settings.
4. Execute unit and lesson plans that the intern has either generated or modified to meet the developmental needs of students int eh specialty area.
• Use developmentally appropriate language to present concepts and ideas contained in the lesson plan.
• Teach needed independence skills (e.g., daily living, medical monitoring)
5. Demonstrate proficiency in using a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning modalities.
• Identify students who exhibit needs for different ways to access the information embedded in the lesson plan.
