4. Course Description:

This course is an introduction to the elements and principles of two-dimensional design presented through study of significant master works by artists from various cultures. Projects will emphasize creative decision-making and development of the language of visual composition. This class is recommended for students going into visually oriented fields of study such as visual arts, graphic design, architecture, etc. Art majors and minors should schedule it early in their first year of study. It also fulfills the liberal arts requirements for non-art majors. MnTC Goal 6
