A Central Lakes College Course Outline is the official record of curriculum at the individual course level. As such, it forms the basis for a contract among the student, instructor, and institution, giving the fundamental required components of the course which the student is guaranteed to receive from the instructor and institution. The course outline specifies the required components of the course, the content for which students-across all sections of the course-will be held accountable. It is by examining a Course Outline that reviewers are able to judge whether or not the course is designed to provide a coherent body of knowledge that adequately prepares students in a particular subject. Further, when a course is revised or updated, it is the Course Outline that records the changes.
